tesco and boots newborn nappies are fab, my youngest is 2 now but when he was little i could get 2 big packs of nappies for £9 and they lastest a month, reusable nappies are alot easier now but are quite a big outlay, you can get ones that look just like disposables, sainburys do 1/2 baby toiletries a few times a year which include wipes, cotton wool, baby bath, cream ect value items are fine even with my little one had had bad exzema

breastfeeding is cheap but not for everyone, i however loved it and he's only had one tin of baby milk and 2 jars of baby food in his whole life i made all my own dinners for him when weaning

if you have a freezer and can shop late of you can get reduced bread for as little as 10p per loaf, frozen veg is usually cheaper and theres no waste, value fruit isn't as cheap as local markets/farm shops imo

porridge is a nice cheap filling breakfast

bulk cook meals and freeze them you won't feel like cooking when you ahve a new baby (bulk them out with frozen veg or letils)

    congrates and good luck :)

as with to breast feed or not
choosing nappies etc is your choice find out what you prefer/fit your needs and stick with it

at the end of the day with baby related issues do what suits you and makes you feel comfortable.you should feel less stressed that way.

if you say don't want to breast feed for what ever reason then don't .
don't feel pressured into what others say you should do.

1st times can be nerve racking but you soon get the feel of things.
  • I know the Tesco Baby Event is going on next week too from 16th Jan till 5th Feb, this is better for me as I don’t have an Asda close to where I live

What about things like bread? Does it work out cheaper to make your own (like bread rolls) or should you just get them from the shops?
I find that bread & rolls are by far the most common thing to find on reduced price ( if you know the times of when the store do their reduction ). Cannot remember the last time I paid over half price - and usually around a quarter. I just pick a few at a time and freeze them.
