Praise - Natwest Critical Illness policy (Underwritten by Aviva)

Brief backstory:
- I had mystery weight loss throughout most of 2011.
- Under pressure from other half, friends, family and a few people on various forums I finally went to see my GP in August after developing a few more worrying symptoms such as night sweats etc.
- Diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in September 2011.

Sitting at home following the diagnosis I was worried as hell until my wife reminded me I was paying for critical illness cover and it might cover what I had. With shakey hands I checked the policy and there it was, in black and white, Hodgkin's Lymphoma was listed as covered.

I'll be honest. My expectations were pretty low, I expected a ton of paperwork, a long drawn out process and for the insurers to insist on extra tests.

From the second I began the process of claiming to the second the money was transfered to my bank account everyone I spoke to was kind, helpful and sympathetic. They kept me updated and called me (I was expecting a very informal letter) once they had reached their decision to explain what happened next.

My expectations turned out to be anything but the case, they were quick and efficient, turning the claim round in around 2-3 weeks. There was very little paperwork (the majority of it was done in a telephone conversation the day after I registered the claim) and everything was as smooth as clockwork. They really made it a much easier to deal with experience than I'd expected and I'm very grateful for it.

Good job!
