Rapeseed oil (the oil used as generic veg oil) is as good if not better for you than olive oil.Put the kettle on.0

You can fry eggs in most vegetable oils but not olive oil, nor can you really do most cooking with olive oil as it cant get hot enough for it so food suck it up and get greasy from it.
I got some of this for 80p or so on special offer and it did stop my husband from frying foods so it did what I wanted it to do but only because its just not nice is any way.
I use olive oil for most cooking (when I use oil at all, as I mostly cook with a slow cooker, or grill so don't use any oil). Can't see why you can't use it to fry eggs, onions etc without any problems.
Maybe it's deep frying you can't do, but that's only one of many ways of cooking your food (btw this thing about temperature could explain a couple of failed attempts.... aubergines being really bad, soaking up too much oil, hadn't thought of that)
Ages ago, when I was on a diet, I tried all sorts of nasty stuff, like oil sprays, and decided that instead I would use as little oil as possible but the best quality, and now only use organic olive oil (except for bread making, no point in using good oil when you can't taste it).
In winter I hardly touch it, in summer a bit more because of salads.
You can buy decent olive oil reasonably cheaply. Stay away from 'lighter' types, they are a con, inferior products, the only 'proper' olive oil is the extra virgin type, all the others use lower quality olives and are chemically treated.
The real stuff doesn't have to cost a fortune:

PS my choice is based on taste, as I mainly use oil on salads, very little for cooking (thanks to my slow cooker and g. foreman grill), the better it tastes the less I use, with other types of oil I tend to use much more because they don't taste of much.0 -

I agree. I got some reduced to 99p and it is rubbish for frying. I wonder if anyone has tried to bake with it as it says you can on the back?Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0

Its a rubbish product which is designed for one use as far as I can tell!
I wouldnt buy it - I am deeply suspicious of a product which claims to be healthier than olive oil!0 -
Absolute rubbish, tastes of nothing and looks gloopy and is yet another thing that has to be kept in the fridge which is my pet hate. Can't remember my Mum ever keeping ketchup, salad cream, pickle, jam or oil in the fridge and I've survived.0

I only bought it on offer, use it for baking, and also to grease pans with. It is ok for making pancakes with, but wouldn't fry eggs or any thing else with it.Loving the sunny days!0

I must be in the minority because I really like it and use it for stirfry and to cook meat on the hob. I don't use it for fried eggs but do for omlettes and scrambled.
They use something similar in Holland which is where I first saw it and used it.
I like the idea it may be more healthy although I do use a lot of Olive Oil as well - depends what I am cooking.0 -
I am surprised at the comments as mine works perfectly well. Have used it for eggs (no brown stuff as in OPs post), potatoes, pancakes, stir fry and much more as well as for baking. I must say that our scrambled eggs taste so much better since using it. I also use olive oil and alternate between the two products.0

I also bought it on offer and wasn't impressed with it. I stuck it in a spray bottle, which makes a bit better. Didn't realise it should be in the fridge though. Never mind, used it a fair bit the last 2 or 3 weeks and I'm still here... Ketchups in the cupboard tooI myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0
