Best method of getting VHS onto DVD

Thanks for the replys,i have a working VHS Video .....
I have seen the VHS/DVD/HDD machines but a bit out of my price range at present
Well, if you have a working VHS machine, then all you need is an HDD/DVD recorder, which will be cheaper than the VHS/HDD/DVD machine. See post #5.
Why not trade the Sony DVD recorder in for an HDD/DVD recorder so that you can do all the editing within the recorder, on the HDD, and end up with finished DVDs straight off?
This is a far neater solution than copying unedited VHS to DVD, copying DVD to PC, editing, then making another DVD from the PC..... which will leave you with redundant unedited DVDs.0
