Fluctuating Income - can i claim benefits?

I am a musician whose income fluctates wildly. I may earn £300 one week, £100 the next and nothing for another week or so. I get housing benefit and council tax benefit but nothing else. I have tried the direct.gov website but cant seem to get anywhere at all. Any bright ideas please?!

Single? Part of a couple? How old are you? Over 25? Children? How many hours on average? You can take many weeks hours add them up and divide it if you wish to get an average. Possible working tax credits. Possible job seekers allowance for the weeks in which you work less than 16 hours and earn less than £70.:footie:
