invite help needed asap

Can anyone help with a quick invite question please. Do we put the time down when the ceremony starts or do we make it earlier?

The invites are done with the time of ceremony, so should we insert a please be seated at "insert time" as well.

Panic has set in lol

Many thanks x

i would say put the time it starts, common sense dictates to be a bit earlier, it doesnt take long to get seated at church though

If it helps we have our ceremony at 1pm but the venue from 12.30pm. I have put 12.30 on the invites and fully expect people will probably arrive from about 12.15! Knowing my family they will probably arrive at 12.55 though...

It depends - will you be on time.

I was at a wedding recently where the invitation stated 2pm, (Which it later transpired was half an hour early, the registrar etc was all booked for the ceremony at half 2)

The bride then arrived 40 -50 mins late for the ceremony, meaning the guests had been waiting nearly an hour and half!!
If you give a time half an hour earlier than the ceremony, make sure the ceremony actually starts on time!

We put the time of the ceremony on the main invite, then on the extra info asked people to get there by half an hour before the ceremony.

This is what we did too - then guests know that if they are held up for any reason, they won't be late for the actual ceremony :)

What do they do for half an hour?

I was wondering about this for timings etc. OH will probably not be there half an hour before so do the guest just mingle?

Yep, like you said, mill around a bit, chat with people you haven't seen for a while etc, then amble on to the seats.

If you are having a civil ceremony you have to confirm your details with the registrar. In our case the registrar has asked OH to be there about 30 minutes early so he can do it before I arrive and then I will arrive before 1pm to confirm details. Therefore the guests should arrive about 30 minutes or so before the ceremony so they are not all dashing in and looking at the bride!

I have no idea how it works at a Church wedding though!
