No one Charging for our Gas supply
I was wondering if anybody could help me.
I moved gas and electricity to British gas from OVO, I have been onto British gas every month to say you are not charging me for the gas but they are adament that the meter is a pay as you go one, I have never had pay as you go on this meter.
So I am now stuck because i do not want a huge bill on my door even though I am telling the company that they should be charging me.
Should I keep the heating on full blast all winter?!!!
Si.

Expect a big bill though when they figure it out. But do keep contacting them every couple of months or so as they won't back bill as much as if you had ignored them completely. Read the meter and estimate what the charges will be and put the money into a savings accounts.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Do you have a meter point reference number for your account and have you given BG the serial number of your meter..? Do you live in a flat by any chance?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I have given them the meter number and no its a house.0

Stop phoning BG - Set out the history of this meter type mix-up in a letter headed Complaint, enclosing a photo of the meter0

Sounds like you've gone into a bureaucratic black hole
In one of my previous flats i received a letter from BG saying that they were sorry that i was leaving them and outlining their switching process.
I had no idea what they were on about as id not contacted anyone to move my supplier. It seemed that a neighbour had switched and BG put in the wrong MPRN to remove me from thier customer base. On calling BG they were adamant that i had left them.
The result of this was that no supplier had responsibility for that flat and for the remaining couple of years that i lived there our cooker ran on free gas.
It seems like you have a similar tale where your new supplier is convinced that you have a pre-pay meter so they will not send you any bills. A letter with a photo of your meter might be the only way to convince them of this mistake as my experience of the call centre was that they will not investigate anything complex or contradict their computers..0
