That is the account where you need to advise that all further debits need both signatures. Tell him as soon as you have done it and tell himn to get a basic account with the Co-op or barclays ASAP (on-line if possible). I've applied for a First Direct Account on the recommendation of a friend

Look, you obviously cared about him enough to marry him, and I can read between the lines that you still care.
So all this talk of freezing accounts, putting bills in his name etc is premature. The guy has a right to a roof, and to eat. So keep up with the mortgage payments, do not move back in, and leave him with access to the joint accounts. That way he can continue to function and over the next... what?... 3 years? you will doubtless be able to come to an amicable agreement about how you will pay off the ever-increasing debts he might have built up.0 -

Just spoken to a solicitor and she said the only way forward if he won't sign the transfer deed is to start divorce procedings, I was under the impression that we had to be seperated for 2 years but the solicitor said that's not the case
