Advice, bank offer after 3 attempts

Any views or advice on this one.
I tried to make a claim about 3 years ago for PPI against a large BANK1 loan I had taken out. BANK1 came back to me and said they would not uphold the complaint. I didn't do anything about it as I didnt feel I had a case at the time.
About 1 year later I started reading more about PPI and it seemed to me I was quite right in the first case so I tried again with BANK1 not mentioning I had tried before and they again said no.
About 8 weeks ago I receive a call from the claims guys telling me I was owed x amount and they could claim it back for me. I didn't tell them I had tried previously and seeing as it was a no win no fee deal I gave them the details and forgot about it.
Last week I received a call and letter from the claims guys with an very big offer from BANK1 for the loan and 3 previous loans I had taken out with them.
What I don't understand is what I did wrong, I used the the templates from this site. I was also led to believe that once a claim had been made and if I hadn't gone further with it after a period of time I could no longer try again. So why all of a sudden is BANK1 willing to pay up and why do I now have to pay the claims guys 30% for something I had tried to do 2 times previously and for loans I hadn't asked them to claim for?
Dont get me wrong, I will pay them as they have done something I couldn't do and I now have a large sum of money coming my way.
I look forward to your views on this one.
