Beware holiday inn best price guarantee

Holiday inn and IHG groups hotels have a best price guarantee that is posted all over there websites on every page that if you find the rooms cheaper anywhere else they will give you a free night , that they are that confident you will not find it cheaper.

i am going to dubai and found it cheaper by £20 on hotelpopia , same size room same same dates same everything before i booked it with hotelpia i checked with holiday inn booking dept and there best gurantee dept they both said they could beat it, so i booked it with holiday inns wbesite and filled in the best guarantee form . They rejected it saying hotelopia was not in the currency of dubai and in pounds even though they admit it was cheaper on the other website.

No where on the holiday inn website mentions that it has to be in the currency of the country the hotel is in. They a whole list of condtions which i met and a link to further terms and condtions that only goes to there home page.

They are very deceptive , they make you book the more expensive room then get out of honoring there gurantee.

Its stupid as 99% of the websites list the price in the country you live in which in this case uk pounds which is much better.

so dont trust them . They will decieve even when they say they will honor it.
