Looking to be goin Friday 1st June & returning the same Sunday.
Its showing that I cant purchase the tickets at the moment so will probably need to wait till March/April time - anyone know of any good sites for any discounts - obviously I still have a good bit of time before I can book anyway
Also anyone know how I can get discounted pleasure beach tickets?
Thanks Dxxx

The cheapest way to do this is to book Glasgow to Preston on megatrain. This can be as little as a £1 a ticket. You need to monitor the megabus website as they don't release the train tickets in an even way they come out in batches . So sometimes a month ahead sometimes 12 weeks ahead. These are only available Mon-Thur so if you cant change your dates -it might be cheaper to stay over the night before night after.
Then book Preston to Blackpool on the local train. If you are going with children you can use a familyrail card for the preston -blackpool bit but its not worth buying just for this. You could keep an eye out in the Daily Mail who do a free railcard for 3 months around about May I think -should find it if you search on here.
If not book 12 weeks in advance and use a family railcard -go onto national rail website and use the fidncheapest ticket route but you will need to enter Glasgow to Preston to get the best deals the as above add the other bit on.
If not a family or no railcard-same as above.
Unfortunately there is a huge number of people use the weat coast route every Fri/sun to commute so they are the most expensive days to travel!
The pleasure Beach from Memory your best bet is to look for by one get one free type promos -search on here ,look at newspapers-last year I think it was Irn Bru bottles had it on.0 -
You will need to get in early as above poster says - Glasgow To blackpool is VERY popular in the summer. Theres a good chance you can get a dirt cheap through ticket to pleasure beach- think this one includes tram ticket. Looking just now for 9 March to 11th March for one adult as a rough guide(you havent said how many are travelling) then its only £27.50 return.
Good value. If you were 2 adults and 2 kids with friends and family on the same dates you could get all in for £46.80. Obviously splits with megatrain are there but they are very few and far between and the hardiest of people will be awake to grab them.

Apart from Megatrain (which is no good for a weekend anyway) you'll find all the sites offer the same tickets at the same prices - so apart from choosing one that doesn't charge you booking fees there's little to chooose between them
If you can't get tickets to Blackpool South it might just be worth checking Blackpool North - though I suspect availabliity is governed by the Glasgow Preston leg rather than the local one.0 -

Im still trying to find out the validity of the Blackpool pleasure beach ticket.. No access to anything to inform me though - do you know it? Tram transfer or something?"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -

You can buy a rail ticket to Blackpool Pleasure Beach station - which is on the line from Preston to Blackpool South station - for the same price as a ticket to Blackpool North, or South. But it only covers rail tavel
You can with any rail ticket to Blackpool buy a 'Plus Bus' ticket which would include unlimited local bus and tram rides - maybe that's what you were thinking of.0 -
Nice one - I wasnt aware pleasure beach had a station - been a while since I got the train up there.cheers"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
