UK holiday recommendations for young family with baby

Hi,
We are planning a uk holiday this summer and need location recommendations of where to go, our baby will be six months old, so a child family location is needed. We want to be close to the seaside and want somewhere that will have things for us to do/visit.
We are willing to travel to any part of UK but we will be using our hotel.com credits to book the accommodation so won't be able to go to a holiday park site (ie haven, butlins) so if anyone has hotel recommendations too that would be great.
