Gotta ask why would your son need your licence as ID?
I would be applying straight away. Just in case you need it. BIL lost his and thought nothing until a logbook
arrived on the doorstep a few weeks later.
Turns out someone had used his details to purchase a car with a loan. This amused him as his credit history was very poor.
Surprised they managed to get a loan with it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You won't need to get the photo done again provided there's more than (roughly) a few months left of validity of the old photo. If the old photo is coming up for 10 years old, then unfortunately you will need to get a new one done.
You should be able to do it easily here http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/NeedANewOrUpdatedLicence/DG_4022085 for £20.forgotmyname wrote: »Gotta ask why would your son need your licence as ID?
Errm. No, I'm not convinced you do need to ask.0 -

Maybe not need, but all the same it's a pretty reasonable question given that the driving licence can't act as ID for anyone except the licence holder.0 -
When you are collecting undelivered mail for another person from a Royal mail depot, you need to provide proof of their ID.
Their driving licence would be fine for this purpose.0 -
I presumed it was to collect undelivered mail, but have to admit, it did sound fishy initiallyshaun_from_Africa wrote: »When you are collecting undelivered mail for another person from a Royal mail depot, you need to provide proof of their ID.
