DAB Digital Radio - best make and price ?

My Dad has asked for a Digital radio for his birthday, (Thanks Dad!) and what I know about them you could write on a pin head. Can anyone advise me on which is a good make and who does the best price.
Thank you sooooo much.

http://www.scan.co.uk - click on DAB Radio and look at Adapt (Perstel) DR-101 Portable DAB Radio. It is exceptional good value and one of the smallest radios around. I have already purchased one and I am very pleased with it. Have a good search on google for reviews etc. You probably won't find this one cheaper anywhere else.
    Good luck.

If you do decide to buy that one then check https://www.scan.co.uk\todayonly everyday as that radio has been on twice in the last 2 weeks. Last time it was on for £42. They do tend to repeat deals so I would advise a bit of patience.

Check that it works in your area, I bought my Dad one for Christmas and it doesn't work in the Peak District! The shop assistant told me "they work anywhere" - you live and learn!

That's very interesting Melly74, how did you find out, can you look up the areas covered anywhere, do you know? or was it just trial and error?

  • I've got a Ministry of Sound personal DAB radio which is smaller than a personal stereo and comes with in-ear headphones, however we also got some little speakers and a mains adapter which allows me to listen to it like a 'normal' radio. I love my DAB radio and wouldn't be without it. Bear in mind that portable ones do eat batteries so it's worth getting one with a mains adapter.

Go for the Roberts radio "Revival" range.
Mine is in claret leather, your Dad will love it, approx £150.00.

I have a little goodmans DAB radio. It also is a micro style hi-fi. And has some nice wooden style speakers.

I paid £99 for it because I could not wait and love BBC7. It is now going for £80

The reason I went for that one was because it was going in a bedroom and needed to small. Also it had sleep and timer function so I can go to sleep by it. And use it as a alarm clock in the morning.

And it would look good in any room.

We also had a major reason for going to DAB is because we are flight path of airport and the planes would interfere with the normal FM signal and drive me mad. It was only a few times a day but still drove me mad.

And on BB7 they start Tin Tin on monday. Cool or what.

    Yours

    Calley

  • I'm looking for the best price for a Perstel Dr 601 dab radio and obviously at the best price.
The cheapest I've seen is on the Goaudio site, and that's £112.95 inc postage.
I'd be very grateful for any help.
    Thanks,
    bill
