Hi, I tried to do a system restore but keep getting a msg that it failed, and it doesn't give me any reason for failing. Can anyone please give me some advise as to what may be happening or what I can do to find out why.

I've had that and just used an earlier date - no idea what was wrong though.0

Yes - I also tried using an earlier date, but it still failed.0

Assuming this is a Windows OS; go to the Event viewer and see if there's anything in the Application or System event logs that might tell you why the restore failed.
In Windows 7 - type event viewer in the start menu to find it, in XP or earlier go to Start Menu > Run > Type "eventvwr.msc" and OK.
If you find an error message and are still not sure, either pop it into a search engine or post it here.0 -
Do you have anti virus such as Norton etc as that can cause a system restore to fail. If this ius the case Google will give you the relevant answer.0
