HSBC Unauthorised Overdraft

Hi everyone,
I have just checked my current account online and with Xmas i went over my overdraft for 6 days till i noticed and put some extra in there to bring it back within the overdraft.
Upon checking this month i have now been charged a flat £100 fee for going over my overdraft. I dont remeber it ever being that high before!!
I have been looking through the threads and getting slightly confused(not difficult) would this be something i could claim back as an unauthorised charge?
Is there any other stipulations or criterias i have to meet to claim?
Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appriciated.

You cannot claim it back as no wrongdoing has taken place. If it is your first mistake then many banks will remove or reduce it if you ask nicely. Is there any other stipulations or criterias i have to meet to claim?
None. The banks won the bank charge case and its up to them if they refund or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You wouldn't have been charged £100 for once going into your HSBC overdraft for 6 days, you would have had numerous transactions in your informal overdraft.

HSBC does not charge £100 flat fees so you have not been charged once. There will be a breakdown on your statement or ask one of the staff.
If you were overdrawn, and you admit you were, then the fee is correct and the Bank is not under any obligation to refund it. It's up to you to manage your account properly. You could try asking very nicely, but getting stroppy with the staff will get you nowhere; they will possibly refund all or part as a goodwill gesture, nothing more, so if you go in all guns blazing and insisting it's incorrect blah blah blah you won't get anywhere!!I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0
