:jI had seem the TV ad for Plusnet and gone on to their website to find out about it. I was previously paying £44 a month to BT for line rental, free evening and weekend calls and broadband. Plusnet's website gives you the BT number to call to get a MAC code from them to enable you to change your supplier, and, as the bill was in my husbands name i got him to phone BT and ask for this code and say he wanted to change to Plusnet as they would do line rental, ANYTIME calls and broadband for £24.95 a month and what do you know, Bt said they would cut our monthly direct debit to £26 a month. and give us free ANYTIME calls (we only had evening and weekend before!) and it saves all the hassle of changing over.
I didn't quite believe it and got him to phone BT to confirm and they said it was a 12 month offer, but, if we contacted them in twelve months time they would do another deal. they obviously depend on peoples laziness not to chase these things but i am so glad i did this! More money in my pocket every month - not to be sniffed at!!!!
Note that this worked by phoning to ask for your MAC key as if you were going to change supplier.

and even cheaper from Talktalk. I pay £20.30 for broadband, evening and weekend calls including international calls and line rental. Talktalk suits me fine and I have been using them for years with no trouble.

Pity you didn't ring them up earlier and query the charges,as I Can't think why they were charging you £44/month.0

Makes no difference, or shouldn't do.
You'll be surprised the number of companies who can pull proverbial rabbits out of hats in order to retain custom. Apathy is the biggest money spinner for most companies and it only takes one phone call to potentially save a lot of money.0 -

Only works if TalkTalk have unbundled your exchange - price on Market 1 exchanges is much higher.0
