Is it cheaper to run hot water all day and turn off at night?

15 minutes is less than 20 minutes so you will cut your costs by a quarter by having bath play time instead. Or you could always have less time in the shower. You should try having a shower in 4 minutes or less. You haven't seen the ridiculous size of our bath!! Seriously, previous owners put it in and it takes 15 mins just to fill the damn thing, i have about 3 baths a year and the baby sits in about 4" of water each night!! I only let the little ones sit in the shower about once a fortnight to 'have a play' (that makes it sounds like they never get washed!!).
Have switched back to the programmer this morning and feel relieved.
Thanks again.
PS We are on a water meter and DO pay a fortune in water but the washing machine never stops etc so no idea how to reduce that, perhaps a whole new thread!:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
