Which Charities Can Use Donated Computers??
Could anyone please advise me as to which charities - if any - can make use of donated computers and accessories.
We have just replaced our computer, and would like to donate the old equipment to charity, rather than take it to the tip.
Any suggestions much appreciated - thanks........

you could try calling your local counsel - they sometimes know of charities or school that can make use of old computers. i gave one to my local primary school adn they were chuffed.0

Try local charities - if they can't use it they may know someone who will. Alternatively sell it for charity on ebay.0

Why not try local churches - many still do their accounts on paper and would probably welcome the chance to get into the 21 st century and make life easier. Also they may like to use one for presentations, services etc

We are in the same situation. I phoned our local Oxfam but they do not accept old computers - I think all electrical goods are not accepted. I got in touch with our local recycling group and they recommended selling in the local paper or ebay, or taking it to the local recycling depot. I read somewhere that some schools were taking/sending old computers to countries such as Malawi but I have not been able to find out any more on this. I hate to throw out such a large item that surely can be used by someone - even just as a word processor.0

Sell it on ebay for charity like ianna said.
That seems your best bet. Things like that seem to go for more when they're for charity purposes!0 -
ave a look at

how about contacting playgroups in your area as i am sure they would be happy to take it off your hands.0

Try https://www.computersforcharities.co.uk

The normal problem with donating computers is that they are not a high enough specification to be useful, but it's worth looking on this site to see!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
How about

No one wants our CRT monitor which is in excellent condition - not even the Freecycle groups all they want are the TFT monitors.0
