    I've been Money Tipped!
We went went for Christmas just gone. My son is 9. He was the perfect age. We never saw him! He made friends of a similar age and they were out tobogganing from breakfast till bedtime, with a pit stop for food and drink.

The cold was not an issue even for the smallest ones. We went with First Choice who provide all the outerwear for all ages. Any sleigh rides or skidoo rides, they covered the little ones legs over.

But I think they get more out of the trip if they are older.

Our clothing was all included in the cost except for #3 son as he was under 2

I went with Canterbury Travel too many years ago. We had a fantastic time.:T

I wouldn't recommend it for very young children. Its not easy for them to maintain body heat and it does get cold. We had temperatures ranging from -19 and -36.

awww it all sounds fab !

we are thinking of going next year when our youngest son will be 6

how much roughly can we expect to pay for 2 adults ,2 children for say a 3 day trip?

The budget of a small third world country:rotfl: We toyed with going again this time last year and were looking at over 6 grand for five days for 5 of us. and decided against it for the time being
What I would say is that if you are going to do it then do it properly. Get the best that you can as ( generally ) it`s a once in a lifetime trip.:j

we went in dec with 3 children age 5,7 and 9.Although very magical it is still quite stressful getting everyone kitted up....it used to take us well over 1 hour just to get ready to go outside.I wouldnt recommend taking a child under 5.

Costwise....we paid £3149 with Esprit but booked it with colchester travel(think the website is https://www.santadays.co.uk but if you search colchester travel you will find it.They do all the trips but for all the major lapland dealers but are normally at least 10%cheaper than booking wtih the company (ie Esprit) direct. This was for 4 days 3 nights saariselka staying at 4 star holiday club apartments.

Yeaterday we found that the company Inghams also goes to this same hotel but is sooooo much cheaper. We couldve gone for 7 days for the same price as esprit. You can still book all the santa experience things etc.

We went from 23rd to 28th December so the cost was more than earlier in the month. We also stayed in a cabin with its own drying room and sauna as opposed to an apartment or hotel room. As I said earlier if you are going to do it then do it properly. With all due respect , the " fancy " company we went with is a specialist and with this type of holiday , you really do get what you pay for. Our trip had skidoo driving, sleds with dogs and reindeer a ski and toboggan runs, first class food and drink and a group leader just for our coach.

You must expect temperatures to be as low as -40 regardless of others experience.

I think that if you can do it for £350 each then go for it but as I said , you get what you pay for.....:T
