Hi,
I've been trying to find a quote online for home contents insurance. However the online quote forms only seem to cater for sole occupants and couples. I currently share a rented property with two friends and the websites don't seem to allow for that type of quote.
Have found a few doing that type of thing but it's aimed towards students rather than people in employment.
Does anybody know if there are firms that cater for my needs or is it a case of trying to go through a broker.
Thanks very much for any replies.
Regards,
Tom

Hi Tom
I've been going through the same thing. The only company that seems to do this is Endsleigh. You can either go for cover for everyone in the house, or individual cover.
There are three of us, and after much discussion, we decided to go for individual cover, all through Endsleigh (one of the flatmates has around £4,000 worth of jewellery  which would have bumped up the premium). I got £5,000 worth of cover for around £68 a year, which is pretty good I reckon.
Hope this helps - let me know how you get on.

It's not 100% clear what type of quote you mean? You're going to find it difficult insuring the entity of your combined belongings .. as precise ownership will be unclear. And any one of you moving .. screws the whole thing.
But insuring your individual goods in a multi-occupancy environment is reasonably straightforward. It is typical 'student' territory - and Endsleigh are the specialists.
But I found, with my son, that they suddenly became non-competitive when (London) he moved from student to ex-student - but still living in multi occupancy flats. I used the search facilities on here :-
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1101119998,66754,#shop
.... and Liverpool Victoria came out best. Worth a search .. but you will probably need a specialist if you're trying to put multiple names on the policy?
EDIT
Apologies. Endsleigh do offer policies covering up to 6 people renting a house / flat (separate from their Student specialisation). As here :

Thanks for your help. Have now got a policy with Endsleigh.
Cheers
