I have searched- Im sure there used to be a thread about children's party ideas but I cant seem to find it now.
Birthday is in 2 weeks and nothing booked! Have researched soft play, entertainer, local leisure centre but all too expensive so got to do something cheaper. Any ideas?? I can rent out the local church hall for £5 per hour but I need ideas of what to do with the kids when they get there!

I did a pirate party at home when my eldest was 4. Bought a pin the X on the map game (think it was ebay), hid gold plastic coins in the garden along with sweetie necklaces and watches as a treasure hunt. They had a pirate present (think it was a pirate stationary set) in the pass the parcel. I did a square cake - covered in chocolate with a big 'x' in one corner, a palm tree, a plastic pirate and a parrot candle! Pirate party bags are easy to come by - filled with more coins, some temporary tattoos, pencils and sweets (quality street make good 'jewels'). I also bought eye patches for all the children to wear at the party which went down well.
We had hotdogs to eat and icecream in a cone for pudding. It's enough and saves the hours of work making sandwiches and things on sticks!0 -
Hi, for my daughters party I found they enjoyed decorating party hats to wear. I found some packs of cardboard crowns / tiaras and stickers etc. It kept them quiet for a while! Also pass the parcel they enjoyed. I know one mum who baked plain cupcakes, made a batch of icing and got sprinkles etc and let them decorate their own to eat. They might be to young for that though I seem to remember it got messy! Hope all goes well!0

Can you fit a small bouncy castle in? Lots and lots of balloons, traditional party games and it'll be over before you know it.Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Loads of suggestions over in the old style forum.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

Lots of games! I'd have something else running at the same time, like a craft table for those that don't want to participate.0

My DD's 4th birthday is in 2 weeks too
we are doing a fun fair party. I have lots of side stalls for the kids to play like:
Beanbag toss - throw beanbags into an old picnic basket (or anything really) - im making the beanbags
Lob a choc - weve got an old drawer and made cups out of paper that we have stuck on and the kids throw value eclairs and try to get one in one of the cups
Name the teddy - we're using one of DD's millions of teddies as the prize
Knock the choc - I have a shelf I used to use for craft fairs, going to stand small chocolate boxes on there and they knock them off with beanbags
Find the treasure - printed a picture of a pirate island and put a grid over the top and they pick a square to write their name in - prize is a bag of chocolate money
Tombola - loads of party bag bits with tickets on ive made
pick an egg cup - basically egg boxes cut up with sweets underneath :rotfl:
Lucky socks - load of socks each with a wrapped prize inside
Hook a prize - ok dont attempt this if your not crafty, I made all the boxes, 17 took me 5 hours! they have a few stickers inside and we are making poles for them to 'hook' the boxes with
my sister is doing face painting for me and another sister is doing glitter tattoes
When the kids arrive they each gt an empty gift bag (tesco selling christmas ones for 25p each) and they 'win' their party bag stuff
I have roped in everyone to run stalls but its been really easy to organise and hasnt cost me much at allSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £2470.95/£1000 (19) £0/£10000
