Im just wandering if anyone can tell me where i can get some help about going back to work. I've been a carer to my husband for the last 14yrs and unfortunately he died last year. I am now in receipt of widows parents allowance at £105.02 per week and i believe th9is to be taxable? i also get my rent and council tax paid and get child tax credits for my 3 children. I desperately want to go back to work. I have just been offered a job for one day a week at the mo at £50 per day but not sure how this would effect my finances so would i be worse off and what about tax and national insurance ect? and if i do increase my hours how would this effect me? Would just like some info but dont know who to ask?

My mother is in the same situation. You will lose your benefits pretty much pound for pound keeping a very small amount which may cover the transport to/from the workplace. You may be worse off. You can use the entitledto calculator to see the exact affect on your finances.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
