Applying and recommending beauty products is a skill, just the same as any other service.
How many men do you know who wears lipstick? lol0 -
Well the bra was invented by a woman so yeah there is that and what underwear? You assume I wear any?tomjonesrules wrote: »Do you have to wear something to be able to understand it? Have you thought about who might have designed your underwear?
Do you understand how to apply make up (if you are a man)?0 -
I do not shop in M&S as they do not do my sizetomjonesrules wrote: »I doubt that the bra you wear now was invented by a woman. The main lingerie designer at M&S is certainly a man, and at Eveden also.
Yes, I understand how to apply make up. Odd that, being a woman. Why would a man not be able to learn how to apply make up?
And what about all the clothes that you wear that are designed by men? Or are you choosing to ignore anything that does not support your misguided viewpoint?
Now you are talking about being a makeup artist and yeah men can do that but a guy as an AVON rep I doubt will be able to tell you how to put a base on and whats the best one etc since he hasn't possibly used it.
You assume I have clothes ONLY designed by men and there are no women designers in the UK or world!0 -
aren't there certain jobs that sexual descrimination doesn't cme into play?0

and I did correct that post before you repliedtomjonesrules wrote: »Reread my post - it is there for all to see, I said designed. It is there for all to see!
Do Avon reps not have training? I know for a fact that they do (I know a regional sales manager, who has several male staff). So how can a man not do that job, yet be a make up artist?
I have no doubt that you have clothes designed by men and women, but by your argument men should not be able to design womens clothes. After all, how could they possibly know what would suit a woman? :rotfl:
anyway - I wouldnt take a bloke selling make up as serious unless he was wearing it

IF it's not one of them why don't the op just email them and ask why they advertise for women.tomjonesrules wrote: »There are, selling make up is not one of them, and the idea that it could be is laughable! :rotfl:
You corrected the post because you realised your argument was fundamentally flawed!
So will you not buy make up from a woman unless she is fully made up? I am lucky enough to have very good skin, unless I'm going somewhere special the most you'll see me wearing is mascara and lip balm, I don't need anything else - should I not be an Avon lady either?
I wouldn't buy make up from anyone, as I just go to the counter pick up what I want and buy it.0 -
I would never need to buy from anyone as I know what I want when I go to buy it.tomjonesrules wrote: »So you concede that a man could advise on make up just as well as a woman, should you choose to buy from a human being as opposed to a counter?

No a man couldn't give me advice on what would feel the lightest on my face since he hasnt got it on his SWEETHEART!0
