Myser, your picture is nearly the same as my valvebut i cant find any button to press
QUOTE] or any screws on the actuator yo undo.
There is a screw by the cable inlet but the gap is about 50mm so a tiny screwdriver is needed.[/QUOTE]You shouldn't need to undo any screws. The valve works on H and M but not on W.I rang BG and they are here on Wednesday to have a look.I wanted to try a fix it myself as i will need a day off work and my job is not safe and this is the thing i need.

BG came today.
Meant to be 10am - 2pm. He eventually turned up at 3.10 and was a moaning git and not soory for being late.
Told him what was wrong and after 5 mins looking he went in the loft and came back down, went to his van, back upstairs after half an hour of banging he went in the loft again and back again.
I was in the lounge and he said thats it all done i will be off now. I had to ask him what was wrong and what he had done as he wasn't going to tell me.
He had to take of the 3 way valve and put a new one on and a new motorised valve.
Half an hour after he left i put the heating on and after some gurgling some of the rads are not getting hot. He must of drained down some water. Will give it couple of days to settle down and if no good get them back again.
The new part he put on is the exact one in the link from ormus and not the same as the old one i had.
Thanks for all the help so far.0 -
I know this is an old thread but thought it would be worth posting here.
My 3 port valve has the same problem and I'm planning on removing the actuator head to have a look at the spindle and see if it turns freely. Do I need to turn off the power to the valve first? I read that I should, however reading the above advise, it sounds like you should leave the power on, and then call for HW/CH/HW+CH to check the actuator 'innards' spin round as expected.0 -
Depends on the type of zone valve you have. Would suggest you isolate the electricity first, remove the actuator head. Place it somewhere safe where you can watch the motor turn, then switch the electricity back on again. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
