newcastle info

can anyone recommend a couple of good restaurants or pubs for a meal. not too expensive maybe a pre theatre as we will be there early.and pubs not too full of stags and hens. thanks for any help.

    I guess depends on what you like...quite a few places do happy hour before 7pm...if you'll be at the Theatre Royal, there is an Italian quite near called Pani's, further down Grey st there are loads of restaurants, Zizzi's, Pizza Express, a spanish restaurant La Vigna (I think it was!) can't remember how expensive but very nice food. Also Indian restaurants pretty near, my favourite is Simla, further down the Quayside. Have fun!

    Sabatini's on the Quayside, great (Italian) food at a reasonable price. We visit everytime we go home.
