Help Needed Asap

Hi new user her dont know if this is in right place
if not i will repost if there is a correct place on the forum

basically i got a parking ticket fine 2 day to day from criton bailief not sure on name letter downstairs

saying i owe 183 pound this is 1st i have heard of this phoned them but office was shut
so i phoned the local council and the person wasnt avaiable as it was gone 5 to speak to...but another lady told me few details was ticket for wrong class of vechicle at 7 .30 am i ahd parked in loading bay i to get some cash out no longer than 5 mins any regardless of that she said that ticket details was sent to a address i have moved from in 2005 my car was taxted to new address in 2005 the offence happened june 2006 ...so i didnt get no ticket on my car or no letter in post ...then all of a sudden a fine of 183 from a debt collector saying if they come out in 7 days it goes up 2 over 700

any help plz ? obviously will state this when i ring council back up 2 morra
does any1 know do they need to issue tickets anymore or can it be on cctv
and where do i stand cos they have sent letters to wrong place yet debt collector fine me straight away...where my vechicles is taxted

I can't help with your question I'm afraid but if it was me I'd go and see my local Citizens Advice Bureau.

forgot to also say ...its not my house its my partners just my car is taxted to that address the debt collecters would have no right trying to get in would they ....just the rights to my vechicle which i own ??? is that right
but regardless of that i should only have to have the intial fine its not my fault they send letters to wrong place????

When did you change address on the V5 (logbook).

In my area, traffic wardens take a digital camera picture showing the vehicle, the parking restrictions sign and the ticket stuck to the windscreen.
Check with your council if they do that and ask to see copies.

is a town centre though an lots of ccctv

You can get a ticket via cctv in London. They would then send a bill, with pictures to the registered address.

If your address was wrong you would never know until this happens..

there mistake and am i right the company has no right sending bailfts there
as only my car is registered there and not me

Let me see if I have grasped this problem correctly.

1) The first you knew of this parking ticket was when a bailiff's letter arrived.
2) From what the council have told you, the ticket/reminder was sent to an old address.
3) You don't actually live at the address to which the car is registered.

As far as I am aware, parking departments get their vehicle address info from DVLA, if, DVLA provided an address to the parking department that was incorrect, then you may have a case for paying the actual amount of the fine.
Provided that is the ticket was issued by computer and not by a warden on the spot.
Your log book will no doubt show the date of the change of address and this should be easy enough to produce to parking department to verify your claim.

You've done well to remember what you were doing last June....I struggle to remember last week. :rolleyes:

haha yeah only time i parked there an she said 740 am so was on way to work

3its my gf house so i am not the house owner just have got taxed an insured there....
