Just seen the other thread about Tescos. I'll leave this post here in case anyone is interested in the offer
Hi
I've just noticed that Tesco has diversified into kitchens. They are doing an offer "Free installation if ordered in January" Has anyone used them before or is it a totally new project for them?

Free installation - So the fitters are doing it for nothing?
Its like buying a new set of tyres for £15,000 and getting a free car!

What I don't like about some companies, and I think B&Q are like this, is that they take a large cut from the installation fee, so the fitter is hardly going to be the happiest bunny on the planet. Some companies (I won't single them out) have approved fitters, and the customer pays them directly. That way you know exactly who gets what, and if you pay a fair amount directly to the fitter, you can be sure he or she will probably take you seriously, and not rush the job in order to get onto the next one because (s)he needs the money. Incidentally, I tend to suspect that independent shops use a small number of fitters that they know can do a good job, because their reputation depends on it, unlike Pee & Poo (spelling?) who thrive through force of advertising, and 'special' offers.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0 -
