If you not the customer and it is mistaken identity or identity theft, doesnt that defeat the object.

Plus, usually when companies phone you, they dont ask for full security questions like the above

Hiya,

I had something similar with Westcott (booo!!!!). It wasn't stolen identity, but I lived at the same address as this woman.

At the time I lived there, I still used my maiden name, but she had the same initial as me, and the same surname as my married name (I married 3 years after moving out of that house).

The fact that she lived there 20 years before I did, and was 40 years older, and that her first name was totally different, did not seem to concern either Westcott, or Empire catalogue, who the debt was owed to.

I ended up having to call Experian, getting them to remove her name from my records, and then Experian call Westcott and Empire to advise them it was a case of mistaken identity.
