I'm not choosing to work 16 hours a week. If you read my post my husband was working full time but got made redundant. It can happen to anyone. We are both seeking full time work.

If you read my post you'll see I never mentioned anybody choosing to work only 16 hours, only that it's hardly any different from being on JSA for a couple.

As has been said to the OP, why can't one of you work an additional 8 hours a week, just temporarily, to ensure you reach the 24 hours required for WTC? This will still leave plenty of time, particularly if its your husband, to look for the full time job you/he actually wants? I know this job will not be what your husband wants to do but if its only temp and means you get more money from WTC then I don't see the issue.

I really don't buy that there are 0 jobs out that could fulfil 8 hours a week - a cleaning job or even a paper round would do!! Its not ideal, but you see what I'm getting at.
