the thermal shock might just do it
i often use a very large lump hammer on the inside sidewalls sometimes too as a rubber hammer is akin to a toffee hammer
keep the nuts on though but slack so wheel cant go flying off0 -

You are right, it's a tongue in cheek posting, possibly the first one would be ok, or a variation on, but I would hope the op won't crawl under his car while trying to pull the rim off with a pick up, or set fire to it with a gas torch.0 -
I think the first one has some merit, Though I would not jack against the other rim, I would set up two posts against the wall behind the other rim and then a cross piece across the ends of those 2 posts then jack against that, essentially the same principle as jacking against the other rim but building cage around the rim and jacking onto the protective cage.
Get some force applied and then hit with a hammer in certain points and hope it will pop off. One thing you must not do is just jack more & more pressure onto it hoping it will just pop off what you are more likely to do is damage the rim and the hub. The way it works is to apply good pressure and then hitting it causes a shock through it which pops it off..
Keep the wheel nuts in loose of course, and jack it up just above the floor.
Same thing with a puller assembly, don't pull and pull and pull and pull, apply good force with the puller and then smack it somewhere with a hammer.0 -
Rim to rim stops the car being pushed away from the wall, or off the jack though.
Last one I had, I belted the inside bottom of the rim, and a mate lying on his back kicked the top of the rim from the outside.
Eventually it gave in, and came off.
We had the car on two trolley jacks, and an axle stand, just in case.0 -

Sitting on your ar*e and kicking the wheel on one side with both feet (heels) will exert more of the correct kind of force than a hammer.
If you re-try the driving forward and braking sharply method, keep the nuts finger tight.''apply within''
