Well done on being a successful customer of ours ;) and well done to your sister in saying don't pay the scammers . On the sign does it actually say 'fined' on there ? If so could you take a picture of it and post here ? Thanks
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Just one last question, on the back it reads "this charge has been lawfully issued and collection process will be followed in accordance with the administration of Justice Act 1970."
If you actually looked up that Act and managed to unpick the legalese (don't bother, you'll only get a headache:-)), you would discover that it was entirely irrelevant to the invoice you have been issued.

In fact, if you look it up on Wikipedia, while not the fount of all accurate wisdom, it does say:

Section 40[2] includes a number of provisions forbidding creditors such as debt collection agencies from harassing debtors, including:Excessive demands for payment
    • Falsely claiming that criminal proceedings will follow after failing to pay a debt
    • Falsely pretending to be officially authorised to collect payment
    • Producing false documents claiming to have some official status that they do not have
All of which are tactics often used by PPCs and their tame debt collectors, so actually the Act is in your favour!

taffy056, I was wrong the new sign says "free for two hours only with a pay and display ticket!"

    Sorry
  • You should thank them for taking photos of your car for you - tell them you were actually thinking about selling it but didn't have a camera and ask if you can use their photos :D

Please help! I have read through the unfair parking fine report and im just so confused!

I left my car in a carpark where you leave your car for 2 hours with a free pay and display ticket. I took a risk when picking up a pizza for 5 minuites and didn't get my free ticket. I couldn't have been more than 10 minuites and it was also in the evening and there were plently of spaces, I returned to my car with a parking fine :(

Now I know this is my own fault for being lazy but as it's a private car park do I still have to pay? They want me to pay £90 or £50 if it's in the first 14 days and I'm not sure if I would have a leg to stand on if they took me to court for ignoring the fine like the article says too. They also have photo's of my car now on there website :(

Any advice even if it's to pay up please let me know.

    Thanks

    S:(

These companies are out and out scammers...they have NO right to fine you.You have merely been given an invoice for alleged breach of contract. You say they have a photo of your car on their website.Fantastic!! That means it has cost them money to process it!Ignore everything you get off them. Less than one hundred cases were won in court last year out of squillions of tickets issued. It would cost them over £200 in legal bills to recover £90...thats if they bothered to take you to court and IF they won. No brainer ain`t it! DON`T PAY THE FINE :rotfl:

Just if anybody reads this thread again, I still have not paid this fine and it is now November! I did write to them as I got scared demanding what they would spend the money on (little silly I no!) and they said stationary and heating. Then my sister told me to man up and not pay it.

I haven't heard from them since April, their signs have changed to bigger ones saying "you will be find if you do not get a ticket"

As a matter of interest check this site out ticketfighter, look it up in google search. Explains in more detail how these companies are breaking the law with the content and layout of the tickets and letters they send you.
