Do you think it is ok/wise for me to put 10 day holiday in one go?

If you want to, yes
If you don't then, no.
Do you really need people on the internet to help you make a decision like this?If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

I want the holidays just don't want to look lazy, what with not having a years service yet. If you get my drift0 -
Everyone else will probably be taking their holiday so just ask when will be convenient.
Always take your holiday entitlement.
If you really want to not take holiday, book a day a week and work overtime to in effect get it paid.0 -
How would you look lazy? If you are entitled to it, you can take it but others say here just like any holiday you book it's dependant on the business and who else is off. Why not book like someone has said here a few long weekends like a 3, 3 and 4 days off.BrettMorganxD wrote: »I want the holidays just don't want to look lazy, what with not having a years service yet. I was wondering whether to get brown or black shoelaces. I might have to start a thread to work out what the implications of this are in the workplace and socially. Incidentally; the boots are brown. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

Seconded.BrettMorganxD wrote: »I want the holidays just don't want to look lazy, what with not having a years service yet. If you get my drift
Also - this crap about "looking lazy". You're entitled to this holiday off. The worst they can really do is explain that it's hard to schedule two full working weeks off at once (10 working days) and come to some comprimise about how to allocate the holiday pay e.g. a week off twice until March.
Losing the holiday pay, as far as I'm concerned (as someone who is and has been a manager) is NOT an option.
Just put in the holiday request and that's all there is to it, really. If they can't accommodate it, I'd be a bit annoyed personally (two weeks off isn't exactly asking the earth, if it's given with appropriate notice, and you have earned it)... but I'm sure they will come to some accommodation if not.0 -
I'd much prefer someone take 10 days as a block than ask to take 10 Fridays off...0

I read that, many thanks, however I was asking what happened in 2010 and 2011 before he joined this employer as he has a whole year and a third here and only 7 days hols
I think the op has now answered himself though, in that he didnt appear to take any, and didnt want to look lazy (Op wise, up these are your entitlement and there is no requirement to buy them out if you dont ask for them! )
Plan your year, and put in some leave..I am doing that already by discussing time off with hubb etc, and it is only jan 3.0
