Are you a young MOG, or a more mature one? I'm 47 and would not be shopping at the likes of Eastex if either of my sons were getting married and gave me those guidelines, I'd be looking in somewhere like Monsoon.

Hi I am a younger mother of the groom in that i am 46 but need something with a longer dress skirt which seems to be rather expensive will look to see what monsoon has to offer thanks

Are you lucky enough to live near an outlet village...or could you perhaps have a day away...

There are some great bargains at the moment if its near to you

Otherwise have a look in phase eight or east or debenhams

I was abot to suggest a dress exchange shop? They are generally perfect for those kind of 'one off' outfits and often you can find brand new items in them.
