Hey everyone,

My mum has been having alot of problems with her laptop recently and after contacting the people that fixed it quiet a few times she got told that she needs to get a system restore disc.

Does anyone know anywhere where I can get one as the sooner I do system restore the sooner my mums laptop can be back to normal.

Thanks

  • It would be useful to know what problems she has been having with it and what the 'people who fixed it' have done to repair it. I assume it's a fairly new laptop with Windows7 64 bit home premium. The people who have fixed it before should have advised that there may be a system restore partition on the hard drive. Failing that, did you want to carry out a complete reinstall from scratch?

Thats a very good point I may need to try that out but to be honest dont know if that will work as my mum has had more than one problem with her laptop and yes that is what id be hoping to do but when I got the laptop I didnt get a system restore disc with it.

  • Laptops generally don't come with restore discs - as I mentioned, the restore to factory facility is on the hard disc. The PB website has all the downloads you need including the instructions to restore back to factory settings. http://www.packardbell.co.uk/pb/en/GB/content/download

System Restore and Factory Restore are not descriptions of the same action. Perhaps they meant Factory Restore.

Here is the Manual Page 47 onwards.

I guess that she didn't make the Restore Discs as instructed....

Let us know how you get on.
