Ideas to sell my car

Hi guys

I m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I will really appreciate any help you can give me for selling my car.

I m in large debts and selling my car is the only way I see to put a dent on my debts.

My car: Ford Fiesta 2002 (old model)
Miles:41000
well maintained

quick questions:

1.how much can i sell it for?
2.how can i sell it and get the maximum value for it?

All your help and advice will be very much appreciated.

thanks

https://www.parkers.co.uk will give you a decent free valuation

to sell for cheap hit the fiesta owners club forums, pistonheads.com - both free clasifieds

also your free paper will offer free adverts and to put it out to a wider audience the autotrader online is £20 for 2 weeks

give it a good clean and polish ensure for maximum selling power it has a long MOT and some if not full service history - being a festa you will need it to stand out from the crowd to make a decent ammount

Whatcar give valuations too to which you can make milage allowances. Although pricey at around £60 I got the best results from Autotrader for selling my car. This site also gives basic selling advice. Also, see how much it is to advertise in your local paper.

As said above, make sure it looks as good as possible. A wash and polish will help it sell quicker and for a better price.:D
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T
  • Probably the cheapest and quickest way is to advertise in the car itself.

Write up and print out details (and put lots on) of the vehicle, slap it on the windows, making sure you can still drive it <edit> SAFELY.

That way people can see the car give it a once over and if they are interested they will phone you. Saves on time wasters, getting photos for classfieds, its free, no canvassers bugging you to list on their site with guaranteed buyers for £80 up front, its local.

Make sure you keep it clean and I guarantee it will go in under 2 weeks. My old rust bucket did when I did it this way just before xmas, I even got a better price than I hoped.

Advertising in the car is a good idea but "making sure you can still drive it"

I would recomend you remove any signs whilst driving. The police may give you some grief, and in the event of an accident.....

  • We're selling a car at the moment.

We advertised online on autotrader for 2 weeks. Had loads of spam emails and only one viewing.

We've now got it on eBay classifieds (9.99 for 28 days) and over the week we've had a few queries that seem genuine, but no viewings yet.

How does the classifieds section work? What is different to the old way of putting it on? Also, how do you put it on in the classifieds? Sorry that there are so mony questions. Never used the classifieds bit as you may be able to tell.

Sorry, might be a bit late in replying to you message. We went to ebay motors, sell as usual and where you normally get options to sell auction or fixed price, there's a classifieds option. The difference is simply that the classified is just an advert, not an auction.

We've now sold the car (in 10 days). We had far more serious buyers contacting us than on autotrader.
