I didn't spend anything on food today, just ate the sandwiches I'd bought cheap the day before and got a free Starbuck's coffee from work.
I did spend £1.20 on the weekly football scores predictor at work and 30p on a newspaper.
I've also lost a pound in weight in the last week. I'm aiming to shed at least a couple of stone at some point this year, the sooner the better but it's a modest start when I've not managed much exercise this week, it cost 50p in one of those machines. I won't be using that much in future.
Not much else to report today, got 3 days off now.0 -
Received my mobile bill for the last month which came to £55.84. My current contract is for £41 a month with an extra £6 for data.
Just had a look at my bill to see where the 'extra' money is being spent. I've been subscribing to a text service for my football club, that came to £4.78 minus vat for the month so I've just cancelled that. The rest was roughly £1 for sending texts to a friend abroad so I'll try find other ways of messaging in future.
I've still got 15 months of my contract to run so pretty stuck on bringing the cost down much more just yet.
I'm not going to go to the football tomorrow as I'm going to my friends for a get together tonight. Should be a good, fairly cheap evening just need to bring some drinks.0 -
Had a pretty good Friday 13th, no bad luck to report. Had a great time at my friends, turns out I'm not bad on the kinect!
I spent £8 on lager for the night and then £10 on a takeaway, should have only been £6.50 but someone 'forgot' to bring any money.0 -
I did go to the football afterall yesterday as my friend paid me to go, he said he owed me money for favours I'd done for him in the past so gave me £25. It cost £21 to get in and £3 for a programme.
Sadly we ended up losing to a late goal against Huddersfield 1-0.
I filled up with £20 petrol using the cheapest forecourt I could find and spent £5 at McDonalds on the way to the game.0 -
Today I shouldn't be spending anything at all. I'm not planning to go shopping or buy anything.
This morning I went for my first run of 2012, my first run since my 10k last October. Was nice with the cold temperatures but a bit tricky with all the frost around. I did 1.27 miles and you could say I need to run more often as it wasn't easy at all.
Friday night I was discussing a trip to Poland with friends in June. The plan is to go from 11th June to 18th.
Because of the over-inflated prices of flights to Poland because of the football there. We are going to fly to Berlin from Manchester and get the train into Poland. On the way back fly from Szczecin to Liverpool.
Can't book the flights until payday but if prices stay the same it should cost £63.06 return. Hopefully the prices won't increase in the next few days. Just remembered that Easyjet takes nectar points as payment and I currently have £10 worth so would only be £53.06 if prices stay the same.
Really looking forward to going there! :j0 -
Not been able to update this for a while due to work. Never seems to end at the moment.
Filled the car full with fuel £43.41. At work I bought a couple of newspapers for 50p, a chocolate bar for 99p and a magazine for £4.50. I did bring some food with me but still ended up buying a meal for £2.99.
Was a bad day spending, bought stuff I shouldn't have. On the way home I did a bit of shopping at Tesco, spent £1.50 on a birthday card, £4 on a mug and 17.25 on food.0 -
Another bad spending day, didn't prepare food before work so had to buy when I got there. £4.29 at boots on food and another £1.88 at Spar. I paid £1.20 for the weekly football predictor at work and sent the birthday card I bought for my cousin complete with the Vietnamese Dong I had got to him over there. That cost £1.65 in total.
I was supposed to be going to the football but it was postponed until the 18th instead. A bit of a relief as I wouldn't have got much sleep before work the next day!0 -
Was a bit of a better day, spent 75p on newspapers but cut out the offers etc that I plan on using, got a voucher for £1 each travel with National Express and I've got another token for the £9.50 holidays. Got a bacon butty as well at work for £1.50.
Booked a weekend break to North Wales with friends in May. Works out at £47 each, payable in February.
Tonight was the night of the big game, headed over to Chesterfield with a couple of friends after work and just about made it to the game before kick off. We lost 2-1 but we have another chance to make it right a week on Monday. The overall winners get to the final at Wembley. Still believing even though it'll be tougher after that defeat. Come on Oldham!
I bought a McDonalds on the way home that came to £5.86. I'm finding this is a weakness with me going on trips, it's too easy to just buy fast food that's expensive and not very healthy. Need to work out a way of doing this better.0 -
Finally a day where nothing was spent. :j
I got some free tickets to a holiday show event near the Trafford Centre, took a friend with me and got some great ideas for holidays in the future, entered a few competitions and who knows, might win one of them.
I was bought lunch by my friend for taking him there and we just spent the afternoon looking at the brochures and gifts we had received.
Then came home and got some things ready. I'm in work for the next 5 days starting at 6:30am.
It's payday in 6 days. Need to start making plans ahead for the next month, will do that in any spare time I get at work.0 -
Not a good start to the day. Just received an email from Virgin Money who have refused my application for a Credit Card.
They say it's because I already have a Credit Card with MBNA who also do their card.
So I need to apply for another 0% balance transfer card soon as my 0% deal with NatWest ends in a few days.
Will have a look later when I've got more time. Anyone got any suggestions? Got Credit Cards with Barclays and MBNA currently.0
