Which Hotel/Apartments Would You Recommend in Benidorm?

Options
My sister and I are going to Benidorm in early June school holiday. We can only travel the Fri or Saturday as we are restricted to school holidays. We've never been to Benidorm and thought we'd give it a try and know some people hate it whilst others love it. Been looking at all inclusive hotels but the choice is vast and none seem to tick all the boxes - reviews for hotels are very good then some awful on the same hotel. Where have you stayed and where would you recommend? Thought about all inclusive as Euro is not very good but open to any ideas. Just looking for good food and a lovely pool. thanks.

Melia is a lovely hotel. Food very good. Not cheap though

    Book it via https://www.solmelia.com

would also recommend Sol Melia , stayed there for a convention last year for a week , going back again this year for a few days in June £67.37 p/n half board , before we move on south for our holiday proper .
benidorm would not previously have been my cup of tea , but it does cater for everyone , personally i prefer the old town

  • We went to the Don Pancho in Benidorm. Nice hotel, good food and a lovely sea view from the higher rooms.
    Normal people worry me.

load of us went last year split between the venus and presidente, both very good hotels, venus bit newer looking. met a couple staying in the rio park AI who raved about it, the only bad point being they went out most nights as there are acts on in every venue and felt they didnt really make the most of the AI.
Worth thinking about if you like to go out and see a few comedians, tribute bands etc...

We do all inclusive on all our hols but not Benidorm its not worth it. The entertainment in the hotels isnt normally fantastic due to the entertainment in resort is so varied and so much choice its unbelievable, there's something to suit everyone. The places to eat there are so many, chinese 3 courses inc half bottle of wine 4.5 euros, breakfast full english 1.40 euros etc. Bars 1 euro a pint, or 2 for 1 on spirits, karaoke, sound a like bands, comedians. Good hotels in a good location Sol pelicanos, rosamar, calypso, ambasador or a little sc place trebol apts near the presidente. Any more questions just ask.
  • I'd second the Don Pancho. The hotel is s bit retro looking inside but it is a great standard and the service is excellent. You won't get all inc though, just full board or half board.
Also have a look at the Riviera Beachotel. It opened last July and is in a great location and close to the beach. It is also adult only. Again it's just full board or half board though.
For all inclusive i would recommend the Mediterraneo or the Villa del Mar. Mediterraneo is opposite Benidorm Palace show so a little way from the beach but walkable. The Villa del Mar is over the Poniente side and right opposite the beach. The rooms are excellent and you can pay a supplement and have one like we did with a big jazuzzi bath by the window overlooking the beach! The food is good and it is close to the Old Town area which is nice for a drink of an evening. You can walk to the more lively parts from here but it is a bit of a walk, or get the local bus.
The best hotel in my opinion in Benidorm is the Villa Venecia in the Old Town. It's a small hotel with only around 25 rooms but it is stunning. No all inclusive here but you are right on the doorstep of the bars and restaurants of the Old Town.
Have a look here for the Villa del Mar and the Villa Venecia.

For a first visit to Benidorm you would be wasting your money going AI if you intend being out every night at the cabaret bars.

A pint is now €1.50, lots of offers of 2 for 1 drinks, a decent full English breakfast for €2. Drinks are slightly more expensive in the cabaret bars to pay for the entertainment.

I would recommend the Presidente as the food is excellent and it's in a central location.

have a look on Holidaytruths benidorm forum and Tripadviser as well as plenty of people on there for advice. there seems to be a problem with pick-pocketing there at the moment but there again that's probably the same in a lot of places
  • and if you're a bit stuck in the 70's/80's/90's like me, check out Carnaby Street in the Jail Rock bar every night except Modays @ 23.45.
