Can think of a few who may take offence!

    Follow these simple steps:
    1, find a bowl
2, ensure card fits into bowl
    3, insert card
    4, fill bowl with water
5, place into freezer and wait 24 hours
    6, remove from bowl

Tada a creditcard that if you must use will have to be thawed and you can't place in the microwave as it will kill all the info on the card.

Please note: Not valid against hairdryers!

Unless you want to use the a card card externally i.e to make a purchase or cash withdrawl there is no need to activate it. Activation is purely a security measure to confirm the card has actually gone to the applicant and not somerbody else. There are no benefits or negatives to your credit history as it's an internal matter between you and the card company. The fact it's not activated doesn't get reported to the CRA's as it's irrelevant. The CRA will already know you have the card and if there's any balance/spending on it.

I never activated ANY card throughout my stoozing days if the card was only requested to use for a BT. Currently I have a Capital One card and two MBNA unactivated cards with balances running 0% offers.
