Anyone used etradehouse?

Has anyone used etradehouse, the prices are quite good, but they seem a little dodgy?, anyone had any experience?

    Only Worldpay see your card details (Worldpay is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland)

    The Official "Why does everyone have 'Official member of....club'?" which tend to be stupid/irrelevant Society. Member No 1 (I am aware of the irony btw)
  • I have used this company twice in the last 2 weeks for wi-fi router & 2 wi-fi adapters. Delived next day as promised,Item's were as described.
    I spoke to a gentleman from the comany before placing my order he was most helpfull. Orded over the web site, payment was made to a third party using Worldpay. I will use them again if needed. Hope this helps.

  • Tried to place an order with etradehouse today and i must say it was a very stressful experience and one i will not be repeating!

    Sure there prices are good but their checkout system is appalling, i was faced with the choice of:

    a: google checkout (no intention of signing up to this, google know enough about the population without knowing what i buy!)

    b: bank transfer (sounds a bit fishy to me?)

    c: phone payment

    I chose option c, seemingly the best option, but the checkout seemed to not understand and it just froze.

    I then telephoned them and i must say my call was answered very fast, that is the only positive thing i can say, the person on the other end of the phone seemed to be unable to accept my payment over the phone and kept telling me to use google checkout, ignoring my stating that it wasnt going to happen!

    I was then sent a link to an unsecure page where i was expected to fill out my credit card details and have them sent unencrypted!!!!

    When I told them this was terribly bad practice i was told that lots of their customers pay this way without concern, no one is that daft surely?!

    What followed was endless phonecalls and emails for 1 1/2 hours, with no success before once again i was directed to google checkout grrrrrrr.

    At this point I gave up, it shouldn't be that hard! :mad:

    These guys are either dodgy or useless, either way:

    I have used them before and their prices are very good
    Had no problems up to now
    only
    They have changed their phone number to 0871 numbers so you can't call them on prefix providers and so calls to them can be quite expensive
    The numbers that appear for them on saynoto0870.co.uk no longer work
    I tried thyem on Skype which they have a link to but no one ever answers
    Call me a cheapskate but I avoid 0871 numbers on principle

    Oh yes and some of their pages throw up virus warnings
    I just tried to open a new account with them but the registration form isn't responding. Won't send.

    This to me is a catalogue of reasons to start looking elsewhere

    Another vote for 'AVOID!'

    My promised 'Next day delivery' took 3 days and only half my order was sent. There was no note in the package, or email correspondance, to explain why only half an order was delivered. They have taken my money for the full order and run. I have tried emailing and using their contact form, but they refuse to answer.

    Doesn't matter how cheap they are - it's not money saving if they take your money and don't sed you your stuff. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY!
  • Honesty is the best policy.

    I have had issues with this company but after 2 phone calls both were sorted eventually.

    So they are willing to help but you have to be quite blunt with them to get resolutions to your issues. Value for money none the less.
  • This is my first time making a purchase from etradehouse.com and I would never use the site again. The only confirmation of the order I received was a receipt from paypal and etradehouse was not even mentioned in the receipt. There has been no notification of order received, goods dispatched or any indication of a problem with the order despite over a week having passed since it was made. "Next Day" delivery was Friday 26 November and today is 3 December and still nothing has arrived. Why do I have to pay to call up to find out what's going on with the order when they have quite happily taken my money already? Why does their advisor tell me that the delivery may have been delayed by snow when it only snowed 5 days after the order was placed? He also tells me that I can get my next day delivery refunded if I let them know when the item arrives. Why can't they refund me straight away since it's already been over a week? Terrible service and the prices definitely do not justify the hassle. Absolutely never buy from these people.
