Best thing to do is to make sure your next car has a chain cam -plenty do, mainly Japanese, I think.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Thanks Iolanthe. Is there a list anywhere do you know? The dead car was Japanese - an old micra and had a belt. I'd quite like to go for one with a chain!0

If you get it changed on the service before recommended then you'll not have this trouble. Usually.0

Mine was a very old Micra - C reg - and probably had the original belt. Wasn't a difficult decision to decide whether to scrap it!0
