Help please - does offer include compensation AND loan restructure

Hi all and Happy New Year

I logged on here on Christmas Eve that we received a cheque from Bank of Scotland finally, for the offer amount. The loan it applied to was restructured 2+ months ago when we got the original offer.

We received an updated outstanding balance today, that has gone up over £1000 since the restructure amount originally notified in October.

Similarly, RBS (Lombard) sent a cheque received today for the interest amount of £451 (I think), when I called they said there was a note on the file to say that the cheque was less than the offer of £2600. When requesting a balance on the loan (in arrears) it has been reduced by about £2000.

Our previous claim with Northern Rock gave a refund (paid premiums plus interest plus stay interest), AND restructured the loan to reduce it as if it had never had PPI attached.

With the BoS and Lombard loans it would appear that the offer has been used to pay the arrears but the loan has not been restructured. Does anyone know if the offers we originally received would have bundled together the refund plus restructure amounts into 1? Or is it possible that they have made a mistake? I have been on the phone to RBS and BoS for 85 minutes this lunch time but they keep passing me to different departments - some overseas some UK based, none of whom seem to be able to understand my question.

Any advice or similar experiences appreciated.

Jules

Send them a letter requesting the paperwork that shows the redress, where it went, and the restructure of each loan.
This will be better than running up a phone bill.
The loans should have had the total ppi removed and the monthly payment reduced by the ppi monthly amount.(even in arrears, this monthly payment should be reset)
They may have put both loans together, this may not be the case, i dont think they can do this without asking you.
