Capital Account Statement
Opinion
Posts: 401 Forumite
A few questions here... as the title says, regarding a Capital Account Statement of my investments.
It's laid out as such;
Date: 21/04/11
Transaction: Bought 304 Morgan Stanley Finance PLC Global Brands I Acc @ GBX 32.824, settles 03/05/11
Debit: 10,008.50
Firstly, what exactly does the "settles" part mean?
Secondly, where is the best place to track these funds? I can't seem to find the above on Fidelity, but can find "Morgan Stanley UK Global Brands A"
Thirdly, I have a couple of pages worth of these- is there some service where I can type in what/when/how much and have it track them all so I can keep an eye on easier?
Many thanks,
Op.

[1] "Settles 03/05/11" presumably means the settlement date for the transaction made on 21/04/11.
[2] That fund seems to be on Trustnet - the 'I' meaning Institutional and 'Acc' meaning Accumulation Units.
On the following link, click on the + sign by "Morgan Stanley Global Brands A Acc" and you will see the various types of units for the fund.

Your fund seems to be "Morgan Stanley Global Brands Inst Acc". Clicking on that gives you some info, but apparently Morgan Stanley does not subscribe to FE Trustnet so you won't find everything.
[3] You can set up a portfolio on Trustnet which will give you daily prices.
Hope that's some help!
