Failed Amazon delivery - can I claim my time?

Could you not find a neighbour that will be in on Saturday, so if it hasn't arrived by say 1pm, you could just leave a note to courier saying "please leave parcel at No. X".Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Thanks for the suggestion pinkshoes, I have done this once or twice with other couriers, but CityLink do not seem to offer this service, they require a signature from the delivery address. I suppose I could arrange to have it re-addressed to them, but that's a lot of hassle.
I also know from experience (with Virgin Wines who are more than happy to leave with a neighbour or on the doorstep) that none of my neighbours are in the building 9 to 5 either!0 -
Would a parcel safe be any good (example here, but google for them as you can probably get them cheaper):

Sounds like a great idea, thanks, but again not sure if this will work with couriers who insist on a signature!0 -
sorry for pointing the obvious, but if ordering online / having the delivery is so inconvenient to you, why not take a walk into town and buy in person there & then? (no good for Amazon, but in general)
Or, what I do is buy online from highstreet retailers where I can collect from store in my own time.
Some online retailers use the Collect+ service, which allows you to have your item delivered to your local convenience store to collect
Or, Tesco Direct offer timed delivery slots for some items (quite expensive though)
Lots of options available to you.0
