Hi first of all i don't know if this is listed somewhere else on the PCN threads.
i'll go ahead and ask if anyone else has had the tactic from the above mentioned company threatening serious legal consequences.
i have never paid a parking ticket from my local morrisons.. or euro car parks who act on there behalf.
however the tactic seems to have changed and i'm wandering if anyone knows about this and if the procedure is same old .
1.. received parking ticket reason: for not adhearing to the signage .. i ripped it up in the parking meter guys face as soon as he wrote it... i was furious .. 3rd time in 2 years, this has happened.
2.. a few weeks later i received a letter from Euro car parks the usual threat and consequences type.
3 2 months later or so letter from ControlaccountPLC, recruited by euro car parks asking me to pay within 5 days... i no this is wrong.. and if i dont i could face serious consequences..
mmmm could this be evasive action... i could report another company to the OFT, i know that control account plc have not followed debt guidelines here, and i could register a complaint about them.
would you all agree??
i will yet again ignore this letter and file it away with the rest of this case.
can i just add that i had a PCN in 2010 around september time when my wife parked up in morrisons, but the rear n/s wheel was not centralised in the bay... she caught the guy slapping his ticket on, and came home to me in tears.
i said we are not paying that... i stuck by my guns,,, researched it and after about 5 letters i have had nothing else come back from that.. just confirmation to ppl that we do not pay these private car park tickets.. only police and council.
cheers in advance for your replies:money:

Why waste time and effort in responding to them? Just ignore them, the company they are using are mere debt collectors and nothing else and they have no legal powers."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Even if you had parked across two bays sideways and stayed there a week we would tell you to ignore any private parking 'ticket' whatever the circumstances. Not that we encourage bad parking of course but the whole PPC industry - without exception - is based around misleading and deceiving people into thinking they have a fine. Watchdog have covered it several times:

And I had a fake PCN from ECP 3 years ago, the Control Account letters are as scarey as it gets (and that is about as scarey as a pantomime villain!). Nothing else happens, you are perfectly safe to ignore this and the letters are all shown in the top thread by Crabman (PPC letters/threats). You can get a preview of what will arrive next and just play PPC snap with each letter.
It's nothing to worry about at all.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The problem with complaining about the debt collectors behaviour is that they are very good at doing a phoenix, disappearing before coming up with another new name. After-all, some of the PPC "debt-collectors" is just Gary from the next desk down.0
