Sorry I dont think you can but I have used it and to be honest I did not think it worked for more than 2 weeks and that was with spraying the whole house as well on a regular basis. Kept asking my Vet if they had something better and he kept saying Frontline Combo however this time saw a differnt vet who said Advocate and that worked straight away no more flees so a relief.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks Tallgirl
Is advocate a prescription only product?? I may check it out as our two kitties can't shake them no matter what we are doing0 -
Any websites that sell POM without a prescription aren't likely to be that reputable. Some will get away with it by operating from another country - but this can make things very awkward if problems occur and you try to get in touch (they often just have a PO box as their UK registered office, and a phonenumber that may not be connected). Some are just selling counterfeit or defective products (out of date, damaged, etc), or perhaps generic versions that aren't as effective. Others have no products at all and are just scamming people out of their money.
With the possibility of causing serious harm or even death to your pet with a counterfeit product, it's just not worth the risk of saving a few quid IMO. Remember that a vet has to provide a prescription to allow you to buy the product elsewhere (many websites sell POM cheaper online than your vet can sell it for, due to the bulk buying power they'll have). They can choose their "prescription fee" though so the savings may not always be worthwhile - there's no point me paying £6 for a prescription to save £3 on the wormers, but when I'm buying 6 months worth of Advocate for my two dogs, the £6 fee is nothing compared to the £20-30 I can save.0 -

Yes ist perscription from the vet not sure how much it was as dh took him and we got steroids for his lips as the same time. Well worth paying for has been struggling since August with my two saves on spraying the house all the time too.
Agree with op dontvgetcstuff off the Internet not worth it if they are not a legit site.Save £12k in 25 No 49

You can get Frontline from Pets at Home. Only certain managers are authorised to sell it - they ask a few questions about the cat and then get it from a secure area to sell to you. They encourage you to bring the pet in sometimes too although it's not compulsary.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

Frontline is different to Frontline Combo - I think the latter has an additional ingredient which is prescription-only.0 -
I got Advantage from here http://www.animeddirect.co.uk/ just before Christmas (recommended by Gettingready on here) as you can now get that without a prescription and it's finally worked on my flea magnet of a furball! Plus it was only £9.50 for four pipettes...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0

Don't bother with frontline, I have just ordered Advantage and will look forward to seeing if it works x0

Make sure to keep an eye on your pets weight to ensure they are getting the correct dose, too little won't help with fleas and too much could do serious damage.
Personally I would never buy flea products online without being sure it was the right dose, which is why Lily has a check up once a year at the Vets which includes weighing her and to make sure the dosage is correct. And seeing as how she went from Large to Medium for the worm drops I think that is the right approach.
I also keep an eye on her throughout the year and if I thought there had been a weight change I would take her back to the Vets.0 -
The best thing you could do ( as already said) is nip your cat down to the vets where they can weigh him/her for you, there is usually no charge for this, this way the vet/nurse will be able to find the product that best suits your cat and your needs, there are a range of products out there, personally I wouldn't use anything other than a prescription treatment and have used both Frontlines, Adavantage and Effipro with good success.
You won't necessarily be obliged to buy your treatment from the vets and can purchase it from Manor pharmacy for example.
