The following may help you:
Isolate your bed.
-Do this by removing and throwing away the bed base first if the base is made of wood .. they are nearly impossible to recover from infestations. Either buy a new iron base (cost £50 from Argos) or just put the mattress on carpet if you want to save money.
-Treat your mattress with a good bed bug killing spray. I found Zero In Bed Bug spray to be very useful. You can get them from Amazon. Once treated, let the matress dry completely.
-Put in a new bed sheet and then put Diatomaceous Earth (very effective powder, available on the internet) around your matress/bed base.
By following above advise I am sure you can at least have peaceful sleeps even if your room is infested with Bed Bugs.
Later on, you can slowly and easily treat your room whenever you have time and will.
The main thing is that you block their food supply which is you. If they cant eat, they cant reproduce.
Let me know if you need anymore info. Best of luck.
Wont be able to buy a bed frame until weekend at the earliest. I'm thinking maybe I could encase it using polythene sheets?matched betting: £879.63

Polythen sheets cannot stop bed bugs believe me.
However there is a trick I have succesfully applied myself that u can use to temporarily get them to stop biting you
Buy a double sided tape(£1 from hardware store or £2 from BnQ)
First make sure there are no bed bugs r either on ur bedsheet, pillow/pillow case and on ur blanket(give all of them a good wash and tumble dry)
Then Apply the double sided tape on the side of mattress on top of bed sheet all around the bed so that it isolate the bed from any bed bugs trying to crawl up. Also, move ur bed away from the wall so that no bed bug can get to u by climbing the wall first and then getting to u bypassing the security line of the double sided tape.
The above trick worked succesfully for me. U will just have to b a little careful while sleeping making sure that your balnket is not falling off the bed sides and letting the bed bugs climb up to you through the blanket.0 -
Also , make sure u dont use a thin bedsheet, as the bed bugs newborns r quite tiny and can pass through the bed sheet if its very thin.0

Well, a week on, and polythene dust sheets covering the bed - havent been bitten. They work fine as a cheap encasement until you get a place treated.
value dust sheets (couple of quid for a few packs)
Packaging Tape
4 mixing bowls (stand each bed leg in a bowl of water to isolate)
Probably under £10 to isolate your bed. Not the most comfortable sleeping on polythene (even with towles etc over the top) but better than being bitten!matched betting: £879.63
