New house, strange light fitting!

I have bought a new build home and as it is standing empty I bought one of those dusk till dawn lightbulb attachments (swithes the light on when it gets dark and off when it light).

Went to put it in the light fitting at the top of the stairs but it does not fit.

The light fitting takes a Bayonet bulb with 3 prongs, all the other light fittings in the house take normal 2 prong Bayonet bulbs.

I have never seen a light bulb with 3 prongs so does anyone know why this one light fitting might be different?
