Ice-Lolly.com

Has anyone booked a holiday with this company before ?
Just browsing the web-site and it seems to be cheap for package holidays.

Too good to be true ?
Is it one of those places that say its £200 then when you get through to booking its going to cost £2500 ( possibly a slight exaggeration )

What other companies would folk recommend ?

They've been around since 09. So it seems legit. (I hope)

The are definitely legit, as the holiday prize on Deal or No Deal is donated by Icelolly.com. Other than that I know nothing else about them.

Not used them myself but have heard of them quite a few times on travel forums, get the impression theres alot of extras added on before you get to your final price.
Might be worth giving them a call though !

They are a portal/search engine that travel agent+tour opps advertise on.
The headline prices will be the basic price without any extras ie luggage, transfers , card fees etc + often based on max occupancy.

They are legit but they do not sell you a package holiday.

They direct you to a travel agent selling the advertised holiday which is generally a flight with a budget airline and accomodation booked seperately. As such you are not entitled to the additional protection given to "package holidays".

The advertised price does not include baggage (other than cabin baggage), allocated seats or transfers, you will have to pay extra for these (if you want them).

Some good bargains on there, just be aware of what you are buying.

You can also use the info from any of their deals to "self package" an identical holiday, saving the profit the travel company would make.

I dont know if this helps but i always use icelolly but when i see the price i then phone around quoting stated price. This christmas i went to Gambia Icelolly were quoting £430 i got it for £456 but that included Transfers, Luggage & Inflight meals & that was direct with the tour operator, as someone stated earlier the headline price(£430) doesnt include these extras
    all the best

I've stumbled on icelolly, too, looking for an Easter break. The prices there seem to be astounding, so thanks for the warnings and tips. The other one I'd add is to pick out the name of the travel agency selling the holday, then do a google search and add the word 'review' - looking at that has put me off anything sold by Southall travel. Anyone found any more reliable agents/companies through there. Doesn't have to be ultra cheap - I'm after a good value holiday, in the sun so somewhere a bit further away/at the pricier end would be fine.
