Need your expert advice on blenders and juicers!

Options
Hello!
I am a student that enjoys making juices, soups and 100% fruit smoothies.
Can anyone recommend an affordable blender that I can use at uni?
Also, a juicer will be great too - a machine that does both will be perfect!
Very much looking forward to be guided kindly to the best products :)
Thank you.

It may be difficult to buy a combined juicer and blender as they work slightly differently.

A juicer, filters out all the bits and pulp from the fruit/vegeatables.

A blender, just crushes and blends everything together.

In terms of taste, the juice from a juicer tastes better and is easier to drink. However, the smoothie from a blender is healthier as it contains all the parts of the fruit/vegetables.

Blenders tend to be quite cheap whereas juicers are more expensive. Juicers are also more time-consuming to clean all the parts.

I have a jack lalane power juicer and never use it as it is such a pain to clean. It takes longer to clean than any joy I get from drinking fresh juice.

I've always found juicers to be inefficient, leaving too much of the fruit behind (admittedly I've only ever used them from the lower price range) - a now have a kenwood mini chopper - a Delia cheat gadget no less! - and was a great bargain buy at £16 though might be too small if you're cooking for more than one.

Not very affordable. I had a cheaper £25 juicer and it didn't work as well, leaving behind wet fruit and you have to do a lot of chopping to get the fruit into it in the first place. We have this now and the waste that comes off it is about as dry as you can get - it's almost like soil in texture and you just chuck in the fruit whole.

The best thing in my kitchen is this:

It's the cheaper end of Kenwood but still a bit of an investment. It has changed my life for the better as it saves me soooo much time when preparing food and it's the sort of thing you keep forever. Another MSEr nagged me for ages to get one and I'm just sorry I left it that long before finally believing her. It comes with a blender attachment and a food processor that chops, grates, slices, juices oranges and lemons, plus the mixer/whisker/kneader and you can buy all sorts of other attachments including a juicing attachment for it, I haven't tried that though.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We have just bought a Kenwood HB724 which might not be suitable but certainly worth a look.
